In 1965, the city of Drummondville celebrated its 150th anniversary; on this very special occasion the first tournament took place. This tournament was merely a simple sporting event that has grown into an international recognized tournament. The determination and hard work of the organizing committee as well as the unconditional support of our volunteers have permitted the tournament to grow over these past years.
The tournament offers opportunities to young players from Europe, the United States and Canada to demonstrate their talent to numerous scouts present. The tournament also presents the spectators with the best competition that can be found in North America.
Numerous tournaments have been short lived while the Drummondville International Midget Hockey Tournament has persevered over the years due to its dynamic organizers, its good performance, the numerous devoted volunteers and the quality of the competition.
It goes without saying that after 49 years, this tournament has been very successful. The organizing committee has maintained its hard work knowing that any carelessness would cause complication. Overlooking anything would be very unlikely due to the 12 months planning and devotion that has been put into the tournament.
The International Tournament is no longer just a special event but has become a tradition in Drummondville. The midget tournament allows participants to live a social and cultural experience complementary to the sporting event. Despite the never ending dedication and the continual support from certain volunteers since the founding of the Midget Tournament, it remains that the presentation of such a competition that has evolved from one year to another, depends on financial support from generous sponsors.
The Drummondville International Midget Hockey Tournament will take place from Wednesday, January 8 thru Sunday January 19, 2014. Current registration
