President message

I wish to take this moment to welcome you to this 48th edition. For the last 3 years we have implemented changes in order to improve your stay. This year makes no exception in having exceptional hockey talent, with increasing the number of teams in the AAA division and having good quality teams like the presence of the Tcheque U17 National. Also, the addition of quarter finals in the AA, BB and CC divisions will definitely be of interest to both, participating teams and fans.

L’Olympia Yvan Cournoyer will be the center of action for the A and B divisions, 64 teams will be competing. Therefore, there will be 116 teams in all in 6 divisions for a total of 194 games over 12 days of competition.

Not only students will be admitted freely, in both arenas, on January 4th, but also on Saturday January 7th for Family Day at Centre Marcel Dionne where gifts, mascots and entertainment will await you.

I take this opportunity to thank our essential partner, the City of Drummondville for its immense technical and financial support. I would also like to thank all our major sponsors and other partners, for without them, this event would not be possible. I would also like to mention the participation and collaboration of the Drummondville Olympique, the Minor Hockey League and of course, our volunteers.

I am extremely happy for the nomination of Eric Messier as our Honorary Chair Person. He is a Drummondville native, he has played his minor hockey here and above all, he has participated twice in our tournament. Eric is the perfect example of tenacity and perseverance in his quest to attain the National Hockey League, where he won the Stanley Cup with the Colorado Avalanche. He is presently head coach of the Sorel-Tracy Rebelles, AAA college hockey and in 2010 was awarded the ‘’coach of the year’’ award.
